Beginning in summer 2013, we will run a series of 2-week summer internships for individuals interested in a career in publishing.
Interns will be selected two at a time, and will work together on a variety of projects, including fiction, non-fiction, academic books and poetry, depending on our current publishing schedule. The two weeks will act as an introduction to the publishing process, including submissions, contracts, editorial guidance, copy-editing and proof-reading, covers and design, production, and a book launch and publicity (for example, writing a press release or monitoring our titles on Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com).
Interns will be paid a small stipend of $200 for the two-week period, plus four new titles by Parkgate Press, including final approved proofs of books not yet published.
If you are interested, please visit the contact page for more details and to begin the application process (we will acknowledge your email, and provide details of how to sending in a current resume and 1-2 page cover letter).
This section will be updated in fall 2012.
